In this program organized by Hoag Memorial Hospital, Dr. Brennan Spiegel, Director of Health Services Research for Cedars-Sinai Health System, presents the benefits of using virtual reality to increase empathy. Dr. Spiegel demonstrates that VR’s capability to increase empathy can improve the practitioner’s ability to connect with patients. Studies also show that VR can increase compassion through perspective shifting in realms such as domestic abuse and racial bias.
